Minimal Root Disturbance
Our helical piles provide a foundation solution with minimal impact on tree root systems, adhering to the guidelines set out in BS 5837:2012 (“Trees in relation to design, demolition, and construction”). Unlike traditional foundations, which may require deep trenching and extensive root disruption, helical piles are installed with minimal soil excavation, reducing the risk of root damage and ensuring long-term tree health in compliance with UK planning and arboriculture regulations.
Root Protection Zones Made Simple
Helical piles are recognized as an acceptable foundation system for use in Root Protection Zones (RPZ) as per BS 5837:2012. Their installation causes minimal ground disturbance, allowing essential tree roots to remain intact. Our system helps developers meet both the technical requirements of BS 3998 (Tree Work Recommendations) and BS 8004 (Foundations), ensuring that trees are preserved during construction, while maintaining structural integrity in the built environment.
Collaborating with Experts
We work closely with the Arboricultural Association and industry professionals to ensure that our helical pile systems meet the highest standards for tree protection. Our solutions are developed in line with guidance from the British Standards Institution (BSI) to ensure that projects remain fully compliant with UK arboricultural and construction best practices, including BS 4428 (Code of practice for general landscape operations) and BS 5837 for the protection of trees during development.
NHBC-Compliant
Our helical pile systems are fully compliant with NHBC Standards, including the upcoming revisions to section ‘4.2 - Building Near Trees’. We liaise directly with the National House Building Council (NHBC) to ensure that our foundation solutions meet the latest requirements for building near trees. Additionally, our piles meet Building Regulations Part A and are designed to comply with BS 8004, providing peace of mind for developers working in proximity to trees.
